This notice explains what happens when you open a link on bitli.me.
What is recorded when a link is opened
- The time the link was opened.
- The type of device, operating system and browser, taken from the browser's standard identification.
- The approximate location (country and city) derived from the network connection.
- The page that referred you, if the browser sends one.
Your IP address is not stored. It is transformed into a one-way code at the moment of the request and only that code is kept, so that repeated automatic requests can be told apart from a person opening the link.
Why
Bitli Corporation Ltd. uses this information to understand whether its customer communications were received and read, and to make sure automated previews generated by messaging apps are not counted as people.
How links are protected
The destination of each link and the customer reference it belongs to are stored encrypted. Links cannot be enumerated or guessed.
Cookies
Opening a link sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers or advertising.
